Liberty CONVO
It was an honor to share the Murmuration and Designed For More vision at Liberty Convo last week! The hospitality of Pastor David and the entire Spiritual Development team was incredible. We walked away amazed at their culture of hosting. As David said to me backstage, “We believe that we share the Gospel through our hospitality.” One of the most special parts was getting to share the experience with my family and some Gathering Place team members. I consider it an honor anytime I speak to an audience, and this experience got me thinking about the difference types of events I’ve had the privilege to share at. Large or small events, I’m reminded that God’s economy is not my own. As I speak on this vision God has called me to share, not all the stages and platforms are massive like Convo. In fact, most of the stages are much smaller. When the large platforms come, they sure are fun and carry a next level of energy, but in the kingdom of God everything we do has significance. The big and small. When we are faithful to follow the voice of our Lord, that is winning because we never know everything that God is up to.
This is why I try to bring excellence to everything I do and try to define my success by nothing more than obedience to God. I don’t always succeed at sustaining that heavenly perspective. But when I do, defining success in this way has released me from striving and comparison. Instead, I’m propelled into resting in the sovereignty of God.
So whatever you put your hands to today, big or small, fight for excellence and remember that God is at work and your wildest success will come only through obedience.
